The Family
Association of KETHEA EXODOS Therapeutic Community
was founded in 1991, based in Athens.
In 2002, the General
Meeting passed the resolution 24/03/2002 according
to which its name would be "Family
Association of the EXODOS Therapeutic Programme"
and would be based in Larisa. It comes under the
provisions of Legislative Decree 1111/72.
It operates
as a non-profit association under
decision 1575/1991 of the Athens Multimember First Instance
Court. It is run by a Board comprising seven members, elected
every two years.
The objectives
of the association are to:
Mobilize the
families of KETHEA's
(Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals) KETHEA EXODOS (therapeutic programme in Larissa) and KETHEA PILOTOS (open therapeutic programme
for Adolescents in Volos).
Inform the
general public, individually
or collectively, about the problem of using addictive
substances and the ways to tackle it.
Disseminate
the work carried out
by KETHEA's therapeutic programmes and, in particular,
KETHEA EXODOS in Larissa
and KETHEA PILOTOS in Volos.
Lobby
the government to take appropriate
measures against the use of psychotropic substances.
Elaborate proposals
and opinions on the fight against drugs, and promote them in order
to ensure the adoption of the necessary legislative measures
by the competent authorities.
The means for achieving
the above goals consists in the development of training,
cultural and recreational activity, i.e. lectures, seminars,
publications, recreational events, excursions, concerts.
The Family Association's contribution has been
significant in supporting and co-organizing events
and activities with both KETHEA EXODOS and
KETHEA PILOTOS.
The Association's resources are
its members' subscription fees as well as sponsorships
and donations by players, organizations, companies
and individuals that wish to help in the effort
against substance abuse.
