The Family Support Center
provides information, counselling and support to interested
parents, siblings and spouses / partners, regardless of
whether the addicted individual has joined a therapeutic
programme or not.
The main goals are the provision
of information regarding
substance abuse and addiction, understanding the family's
decisive role in the positive outcome of the therapy effort,
personal development of the participants through therapy
groups and smoothing out any dysfunctions in the family
system.
Therefore, the aim is to support
parents in motivating
their children to join a therapeutic programme, and to
train them in creating an environment that will enable
the addicted member of the family to abstain from substances.
Supported parents and other participants have the opportunity,
if they want, to join self-help groups. Through these groups,
they have the opportunity to create, collaborate and contribute
to the operation of space of the Center, which for a long
period of time will be experienced as theirs.
Family programmes last approximately
as long as the therapy of the addicted family member in
rehabilitation programme.
